Oh my Girls

Welcome to Young Women's!
Our first activity of the year was hilarious with everyone wearing wigs and playing get to know you games.

The cats and Dad loved the wigs too.

We had school off for MLK Day so Emily hosted a science party for Lily, Libby and Rosie.  They learned about tectonic plates and types of rocks using food.
Then they tried to make boba for the first time.  It wasn't perfect but it was a lot of fun.

Then Emily got her wisdom teeth out that Thursday the 22nd.  On the way home from the dentist I told Emily about a dead bird of prey under one of our trees.  As soon as she was awake enough she wanted to go check it out - and our naturalist to be did a thorough examination.

Thankfully, her recovery was pretty smooth.  Not too much pain, swelling and no issues.

Grandma Nani Time

Nani flew in to Boise on January 3rd just in time to enjoy Greg's New Years feast.  She got to hold Blake and watch all of the sweetness of that baby.

Sunday we said bye to Mack and Sophia and headed to church.  After sacrament meeting Nani started to fall and Natali caught her.  We kept our eyes on her and headed to sunday school.  I was in teacher improvement class when Sis. McKeeth called me out.  Nani had a stroke during sunday school.  When I got to the room Natali was on the phone with 911, Nani was lying in the middle of the floor with the ward gathered at the periphery.  Greg and Bro. McConkie were talking with Nani and Andrew and Kate were just watching.  I held Kate as she started to tear up.  It was a bit scary but the paramedics showed up and they took her to the hospital.  By the time they left she was speaking clearly and asking to just go home instead of to the hospital.  Greg followed the ambulance with his truck and the rest of us went home to await news.

Greg came back later than night.  Nani was doing well.  She'd had a mini stroke but there were no signs of lasting damage.  They wanted to observe her overnight to ensure than everything was alright before releasing her.

So the next morning the Utah crew stopped at the hospital on their way out of town to say hi to her and bye to Greg.
Monday Lily and I came by on the way to dance and Emily stopped by after her class was over.  She got there just in time to help Grandma check out and drive her back to our house.
She was so happy to get back to our house.  She and I took the next few days rather easy but on Thursday she was up for going to the temple with me.  She was so happy to have a chance to go.

When the girls got home after school each day she loved listening to them chatter, trying to hold the cats and loved listening to Lily practice the piano.  She enjoyed scriptures and prayers with us each night and working on her storyworth stories with Greg.  She wanted to take the girls shopping and to look for a new dress for herself as well.  The girls loved escorting her through store after store as they looked at clothes and books.  She insisted on being them new outfits- they didn't put up much of a fight.  She even bought me a pair of pants.  The girls loved the time with her, especially because spending that much time shopping isn't usually my thing so they soaked it up.

Our field trip to the aquarium allowed Emily to flex all her marine knowledge; Nani loved it.
Nani treated up to dinner at a Japanese Steakhouse, a new experience for the girls.  They loved the food and watching it all be cooked.

On Nani's last day she got to watch the girls perform in their dance recital.  They did a beautiful job and watching Emily's solo was so awesome.  She has worked so hard.

We enjoyed our time with Nani and were sad to see her go.  Hopefully, she will come back and stay again soon.

New Years

Natali and Miguel joined us a few days before New Years and on New Years Eve we drove up to McCall.  Mack, Sophia and Blake stayed behind because they weren't ready to make that drive again.  Lily rode up with the newlyweds.
We ate dinner then started all the games Natali had planned out.  I have videos but no pictures as we bounced ping pongballs, used party blowers on cotton balls, grabbed cups, stacked cups, and basically had a lot of fun cheering and laughing.
We ended the night watching YouTube videos trying to guess cartoon theme songs or name that tune through the ages.  Greg didn't survive the cartoon theme songs test and took a nap on the floor before we did the countdown.
New Years day while Greg and Andrew watched football Natali and the girls took Miguel into town to experience McCall.
We took advantage of the good weather and took a long walk up towards North Beach.
The 2nd we got up to Brundage to ski, grateful for a bit of fresh snow.

Natali, Miguel and Lily headed home from the hill, Greg came back to the condo for dinner and to pick up Andrew, I dropped Emily off in town for Raney's birthday party and Kate stayed with me at the condo to tackle the clean up then we headed home the next morning.  Arriving. just in time to help finish up Chinese New Year dinner before all the guest arrived.

Over the break I took advantage of Blake time in the mornings when Mack and Sophia wanted more sleep.  I loved giving her her bottle then letting her play on the floor.  Such a sweetie.
The kitties liked all the baby stuff.
Mack and Sophia planned to leave Sunday afternoon so I soaked up my last few hours with her, feeding her and letting her sleep on my chest.
Monday morning Natali got the girls donuts before school as a goodbye before she, Miguel, and Andrew hit the road.  We had such a wonderful break and it was sad to tell everyone bye, but Grandma Nani came in on Saturday on time for Chinese New Year and to see Blake so we had company for two more weeks of fun.

Light the world giving boxes at Indian Creek Plaza.
Then the party started with Andrew, Kate, Mack, Sophia, and Blake coming in time for Christmas.

Greg wrapped Emmy's present in 6/7 paper - she was thrilled about it 😉.

Andrew 's loot.
A new part of the Nativity.
Blake meeting the kitties.

We loved all the Blake time while Mack cleaned out the spare bedroom closet and Sophia got some rest.
