Lily lost her first tooth the day before Thanksgiving - it had been wiggleing for weeks. She just pulled it right out. Then she pulled out the second one the very next evening. She said, "Mom, can you just give me the dollar? I already know that Dad is the Toothfairy." She cracks me up. Emily knows the truth about the Toothfairy but she still writes tiny little notes to the "fairy" with her teeth and leaves them under her pillow. Lily just wants to skip the charade and get her money. I told her too bad - she had to put it under her pillow anyway.
The 3rd Grade put on a performance of the Nutcracker for the school Christmas program. Someone added words to the most famous Nutcracker pieces and the kids sang and danced. Clara was the only part with a solo. Emily tried out and was so excited to get the part. She got to watch most of the program on this special seat with the Nutcracker - she doesn't look thrilled but she really was extatic about the whole thing. She even got to nail the rat king with her slipper. She chucked it across the stage and surprised us all by hitting her mark. Her solo was clear and beautiful. It made me happy to hear her.
Grandma Nani and Papa Randy came out to see all the Christmas performances. They managed to see two Nutcrackers, one choir concert, a Kindregarten performance, and the ward Christmas party. Greg was out of town and I was not yet at full capacity. I was lucky they came because right after Thanksgiving I ended up in the ER with what was later diagnosed as vestibular neuritis - basically I had vertigo. I was down and out for a week and then the improvement was slow and stready for another 5 weeks. The first week I could hardly move my head without issues.. Little by little I figured out how to walk and eventually drive and function again. It was pretty lame but I am supper grateful for all the help I got. Glad it is over.
Kate had to miss her choir concert because her performance of Nutcracker was at the same time. Luckily we caught her afternoon performance as a fabulous soldier. I didn't get any pics of her in costume but a photographer got this action shot and I love it.

Greg bought Kate and I tickets to the Nutcracker in Boise, but I was not well at the time so Greg got to take her. She absolutly loved it!
