Christmas

Christmas this year was on a Sunday.  11:30 church meant we could open presents before we had to get ready for church.  Andrew’s big box of Dark Berry Dr. Pepper from Grandma Nani was a highlight.  And we are excited to use the packing cubes from Aunt Melanie on our trip to Spain this summer.

Unfortunately, our house was plagued with illness over the break, especially Christmas day.  Lily missed the last two days of school sick with a fever and by Christmas day Emily was deep into it.  Her fever went as high as 105 a few times.  It was so sad to see her just lay on the couch through all the festivities – it was a long haul for her to get better.  All of us had something on some level over the break – no fun!  Christmas dinner at Val’s went on without us as we just made do with what we had, which worked out fine since only 4 people felt well enough to eat much that night.

We planned on going to McCall the day after Christmas but everyone was still so sick we put it off a few days.  But eventually we loaded up all the sickies and got up to the condo.  Kate and Lily stayed at the condo the first day but the rest of us had a blast skiing –Emily tired easily because it was her first day not laying in bed all day but she did pretty well all things considered.  It was cold but the snow was great.

Greg and the littles joined the next day but Mack stayed home where he spent all day in bed with a bit of throwing up and feeling awful.  The rest of us had a fabulous ski day with nice snow and fun times together.

The kids enjoyed some outside play time while I cleaned up in the condo before heading home.  It was a wonderful few days away and together!
