The best laid plans...I wanted to spend the first weekend in May in McCall skiing while Greg was in Mexico. But Kate didn't want to skip production practice and then Miss Heidi planned a trip to the ballet Cinderella and Kate wouldn't miss that...so Kate was going to stay home. I'd worked out rides and sleepovers with cousins and the whole bit. We were going to leave Thursday after dance...Lily had a sore throat Thursday morning I let her stay home and she slept for hours two different times. Not a good sign. I worried about taking her to McCall or leaving her with Kate so we made new plans. We spent Thursday night at home, Andrew went to mission prep and the girls and I watch marvel movies while Lily slept. The next morning I headed to McCall with Emily and Andrew. If Lily was still sick we would come home after skiing. If she was better Val would come get her.
While we enjoyed an incredible ski day with 4 inches of power, Lily was doing great and got invited to ski with Hazel Leavitt at Tamarack on Saturday. So Lily got to sleepover at Hazels with Payton McConkie as well and ski with them at Tamarack on Saturday.
She had an absolute blast and got in a ski day in spite of not coming to McCall with us!
Kate got to go to Cinderella and spend two night at Val's house so she was thrilled.
And I got to spend two fabulously memorable days skiing through the trees with these wild kids. It was cold and snowy the second day so we enjoyed the shelter of Hidden Valley.
Emily might have taken a fall down this cliff!
The pole sword battles got a little out of control at times but amazingly we never lot a pole.
All my years of skiing the bear chair pay off on days like this were I can hardly keep up with my amazing kids. I am one lucky momma. All those years of kids crying on the hill were so worth it. Even if Andrew did "force" me to ski right into a tree branch making my upper lip look like a 12 year old boy shaving for the first time without guidance. I got over it😜. We loved every minute of the weekend!
